Incredibly flexible: 5 ways to mount the radar sensor

There is a lot going on in the rough environment of a sewer or rain overflow basin. During heavy rainfall events, for example, the water level swells and recedes within a very short time. In order to register the event at all, the measurement intervals must be very short. This is where the radar sensor comes into its own.

The BLE radar sensor is used for non-contact level measurement in harsh environments and provides live data (every 10 seconds) with a battery life of up to 10 years. It convinces by its high measuring accuracy. This accuracy can be guaranteed even in narrow shafts thanks to a low radiation angle of 4°. To avoid parallax during installation, there is a spirit level on the BLE radar sensor.

This makes assembly even easier

The holder of the BLE radar sensor is made of stainless steel. The swivel arm allows the sensor to be aligned over the level to be measured. By means of a ball-and-socket joint, the alignment is subsequently made more precise. In addition, a laser distance meter can be attached directly to the sensor holder.

The 5 possibilities briefly explained

Wall mounting

Mounting in the duct is done by means of a wall mounting flange (drill and screw).

Pipe mounting

The BLE radar sensor is mounted by means of a pipe mounting flange suitable for pipe diameters of min. 50 mm up to max. 275 mm.

Adhesive mounting

The assembly is carried out by means of an adhesive flange. The substrate should be cleaned with a wire brush before bonding. 2K composite mortar injection material must be used as adhesive.

Rung mounting

The sensor is mounted by means of a rung flange suitable for rung/bar diameters of min. 15 mm up to max. 26 mm.

Cross strut mounting

A cross strut suitable for DN 600 manhole covers with pockets for dirt traps is used for installation.

OPC-UA SCADA-System
Applications

Interface to your process control or SCADA system

The open interfaces of the Microtronics IoT Platform via RESTful API and OPC-UA enable easy integration of the data into the desired target systems such as process control or SCADA systems. Some suppliers have already integrated the data loggers directly.

2G/3G Sunset – Modernise your device fleet

Constantly growing demands on data transmission and the desire for future-proof technologies are challenging network operators. To make room for future-proof transmission technologies such as 4G, NB-IoT and 5G, older technologies are being switched off. Swisscom, for example, has already switched off the 2G network in Switzerland in 2019. In 2021, Vodafone and Deutsche Telekom switched off 3G in Germany. In Austria, Magenta 2024 has switched off 3G. A1 plans to do the same by the end of 2024.

The freed-up frequency spectrum makes room for new modern technology such as 4G and 5G. We have summarised more about the development of mobile technologies and 4G with NB-IoT and M1 for you in “4G is not just 4G”.
