Control of ClO2 generators and dosing systems

What's the solution about?

The Clorious2 uses Microtronics’ myDatalogMUC to control ClO2 generators and dosing systems. ( ClO2 is chlorine dioxide – a toxic and explosive gas used to disinfect drinking water and wastewater). Safety components such as a chlorine dioxide sensor for gas analysis, moisture sensors for leak detection, flow for volume metering, all segments of pump technology…. are included.

Up to four dosing pumps can be integrated in this way, with communication taking place via ModbusRTU. The universal inputs or relay outputs are used for proportional signals, fault messages and emergency shutdown. The customer’s measurement and control technology can be provided very simply via the corresponding interfaces of the myDatalogMUCe extension module.

The myDatalogMUC is particularly advantageous in this application because the peripherals and telemetry are already managed by the operating system by default. Thus, the user can confidently take care of his application, the programming is done in a clear, easy-to-understand script language.

Environmental Technology

a.p.f Aqua System AG

The company was founded in 2000 to develop, manufacture and distribute decentralised recirculating drinking water systems worldwide. The company’s focus has changed with the development and worldwide patenting of a chlorine dioxide production process. This manufacturing process resulted in the product Clorious2, which has been marketed exclusively with Brenntag GmbH since 2011. With the use of Clorious2 in many water processes, the remote monitoring, remote control and complete documentation of these processes became an important key for the worldwide, broad and very successful application.

In 2018, Endress+Hauser Deutschland GmbH & Co.KG was won as a technical partner for this. Thanks to the R&D of a.p.f Aqua System AG, new promising areas of application are constantly emerging. Missing sensor technology is continuously being completed.
