Innovative sensor exchange with the myDatasens sensor module

Table of Contents

As your expert in gas measurement equipment, Microtronics is interested in continuous development. In this way, your devices remain state of the art. In addition, Microtronics makes the process of sensor replacement and calibration more convenient for you and saves your resources in the process.

Exchangeable sensor

The sensor modules are simply plugged into the gateway; The great advantage of this is that you simply drive to your measuring station with a new sensor module and exchange it on site. The magnetic contact ensures that the sensor module has been inserted correctly. Send the “old” module for calibration and then use it again. The gas sensor must be calibrated every 6 months as usual. The immediate exchange on site means that there are no more data gaps. A service interval is due every 24-36 months and the gateway is brought in for a battery refill. These greatly simplified processes save your resources and reduce the communication effort between you and your service and calibration partner.

Ecodesign

Acting in an environmentally friendly way is close to Microtronics’ heart. This is why both the sensor modules and the gateway have been developed in accordance with the latest eco-design guidelines. This is implemented, for example, by refilling batteries and sensors. At calibration intervals of 6 months, the sensor is reconditioned by Microtronics or a certified partner. The battery in the gateway is refilled at service intervals of approx. 24-36 months. All batteries are taken back by Microtronics and disposed of according to current environmental standards. By using primary cells instead of rechargeable batteries, the runtime is increased by up to sixty times. Cost-effective spare parts round off the green thinking and reduce waste. At Microtronics, the product life cycle is thought through to the end, from development to return and disposal.

Customised gateway

The gateway saves the measured values of the sensor module. In order to adapt the transmission and the field of application exactly to your needs, four variants are offered. These variants differ in data transmission and in the certified ATEX zone.

You can read out your measured values locally. To do this, you must be within 10 metres of the gateway using the free DeviceConfig software. With the 3G version, the measured values are transmitted to the web server via UMTS/3G and can be viewed permanently by you. Both the local and 3G variants are available in an option for ATEX Zone 1.

Low cost spare parts

The gateway is equipped with a robust, chemical-resistant rubber armour . That is why it is also ideally suited for use in rough, dirty environments. Nevertheless, in addition to the sensor, which needs to be calibrated regularly, and the battery, which has a limited life of 24-36 months, there may always be maintenance and wear and tear around the device. Microtronics has created a cost-effective model in which all spare parts for the gateway can be taken back and replaced individually. For example, the rubber armour, the display, the lower part of the unit including the FME antenna connection or even the upper part including the window for the display can be replaced at low cost.

Current Challenges in municipal Water Management

Climate change is reflected in the change in weather patterns. Weather phenomena such as storms, rain and floods are increasingly leading to devastating consequences. The damage caused, regional states of emergency and people in need now regularly dominate the news.

The weather is hard to change. What we can do, however, is adapt to the challenges. With the right solution, negative consequences can be prevented or at least mitigated. Find out which applications have already proven themselves in use.

Stop the Hydrogen Sulphide: H2S Monitoring including Dosing Control

Hydrogen sulphide can occur around the sewage and sewer system. If the concentration is too high, H2S is even dangerous. You can read here which areas are negatively affected by the colourless gas.

If one knows about the dangers, countermeasures can be taken in time. H2S monitoring with integrated dosing control is the ideal solution here.
