Data transfer to third countries
The validity of the General Data Protection Regulation also extends across the European Economic Area (EEA), and thus Liechtenstein, which is why the same standards apply there as for European partners as defined by the EU.
Where explicit consent is requested, a transfer to third countries, esp. the USA, cannot be ruled out due to the internal functioning of third-party services.
Existing agreements that existed for legally secure transfers to the USA, such as the so-called “Privacy Shield”, have now been declared insufficient. As a consequence, this may mean that government institutions there will have access to your personal data in the interests of the USA. Regardless of whether this is also in your interest, our interest or the interest of our order processor acting there.
We will react to this in that we will
- inform you about it
- As far as possible, only allow such transfers with explicit consent (cookie opt-in).
- Preferably choose European processors or partners with guaranteed European hosting, which limits the possibilities of third countries to intervene, and otherwise explicitly point this out.
- Ensure high standards of information security and, where possible, explicit guarantees to this effect when choosing our processors.
