Sensor for level measurement in sewer, water and wastewater systems

Need to measure water levels in a sewer? The radar sensor is maintenance-free and non-contact. The 10-second measurement interval ensures you don’t miss a thing. You get clean, live sensor data directly from the sewer. The remote transmission unit ensures stable data transmission. Data gaps are a thing of the past.

Register events & react

A suitable measurement interval is crucial to avoid measurement errors. Only if you detect an event in time can you react appropriately.

The water rises rapidly within a few minutes during heavy rain and can level off again just as quickly. A measurement interval of 5 minutes may mean that you do not notice the increase at all. Reducing the interval (for example to one minute), you minimise the probability of missing an event.

Stable data transmission

In shafts or ducts, mobile radio transmission can become a challenge. Therefore, it is recommended to ideally place the transmission unit under the manhole cover (in the sand or dirt trap). However, the measuring point itself is much deeper in the sewer. For this reason, the radar sensor is separate from the transmission unit and connected wirelessly. This means that the radar sensor can be positioned up to 20 metres away from the transmitter (depending on environmental and structural conditions).

And the winner is...

Maximise measurement precision

The measuring range of up to 5 metres with a resolution of 1 mm is perfect for level measurement. The narrow opening angle of only 4° enables focused and reliable measurements. This low beam angle ensures precise measurement accuracy, especially in narrow shafts and sewers.

To avoid possible parallax errors during installation, the radar sensor has an integrated spirit level. This avoids falsified measurement due to height differences.

10 second measurement interval,
10 year battery life

The energy consumption strongly depends on the measuring and transmission interval. The radar sensor only needs 0.6 μWh to send a measured value to the central data acquisition system. In comparison, comparable industrial sensors require more than two hundred times as much, namely 125 μWh.

The measuring interval of the radar sensor is flexibly adjustable. With a measurement every 10 seconds, the battery life is an impressive 10 years.

Fade out interference signals from a distance

The radar sensor provides a clear measurement result thanks to interference signal suppression. What makes it special? Settings can be made remotely via the server. This saves you from having to travel to the site and open the manhole cover.

The historical echo curve can be viewed on the central platform. Using this echo curve, noise can be quickly and easily eliminated.
