With ISO/IEC 27001 certification, Microtronics meets the requirements for an information security management system. After 1 ½ years of preparation, the major audit for ISO/IEC 27001 certification took place at the end of January. Having successfully completed the course, we now proudly hold the certificate in our hands.
Relevance to customers
Expertise and know-how are shared with our customers during projects. Among other things, we work with system owners in the area of critical infrastructure and are part of the business relevant areas of our customers. The confidential handling of information and ISO/IEC 27001 certification are therefore very important to us,’ says Hans-Peter Buber, CEO of Microtronics, emphasising the importance of security in an increasingly digital world.
Just over 80 companies in Austria and 36,400 companies worldwide are certified to ISO/IEC 27001 (as of 2019[1]). Microtronics Engineering GmbH is now one of them. The entire organisation is assessed for information security management. The certification therefore does not relate to a single product.
Organisationally anchored
As part of the ISO/IEC 27001 certification process, information security was embedded in the organisation through the establishment of a management system to ensure that external and internal interests are addressed in the best possible and sustainable way,” explains Klaus Potzmader, CISO Microtronics.
