It detects when the throttle is mechanically blocked (e.g. by wood or heavy dirt). With this information, maintenance or repairs can be scheduled to save time and money.<\/p>\n<p>During heavy rainfall, the throttle controls the amount of water in the sewer system. The controlled flow can prevent downstream structures (e.g. treatment plants) from being overloaded.
