For example, it is used in the H2S application in the sewer tunnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You think that a sewer tunnel is not a nice working environment? You are probably right. However, for our Gateway, things are getting worse that day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the test laboratory of T\u00dcV S\u00fcd, it was put through its paces and had to endure a lot. It was exposed to dust and water, even high-pressure cleaner. As a small spoiler, we would like to tell you that it passed all tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>It gets dusty<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To ensure that no solid foreign objects penetrate into the housing, the Gateway was dusted for 8 hours. A vacuum of 20mbar and 2kg\/m\u00b3 talcum were used. However, the Gateway left this completely unmoved and no dust particle managed to penetrate the housing. The IP6x test was successfully passed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"522\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/microtronics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ble-gateway-ip6x.jpg\" alt=\"BLE Gateway Pr\u00fcfung IP6x\" class=\"wp-image-3190\" srcset=\"https:\/\/microtronics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ble-gateway-ip6x.jpg 522w, https:\/\/microtronics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ble-gateway-ip6x-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 522px) 100vw, 522px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Off into the cool water<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even if a jump into cold water promises an excellent cooling for people on such hot days, electronic devices do not like water at all. The Gateway was exposed to strong jet water (water flow rate 100 l\/min) for 3 minutes from a distance of 2.5 to 3 metres. During this test the robust rubber housing did a great job. The water could not infiltrate into the housing and the IPx6 test was successfully completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"522\" height=\"390\" src=\"https:\/\/microtronics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ble-gateway-ip66.jpg\" alt=\"BLE Gateway Pr\u00fcfung IP66\" class=\"wp-image-3189\" srcset=\"https:\/\/microtronics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ble-gateway-ip66.jpg 522w, https:\/\/microtronics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ble-gateway-ip66-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 522px) 100vw, 522px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Hold one\u2019s breath<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the IPx8 test the Gateway had to hold its breath. For 5 hours it had to stay one meter under water. Look and be amazed, the Gateway passed this test with flying colours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"389\" height=\"519\" src=\"https:\/\/microtronics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ble-gateway-ip68.jpg\" alt=\"BLE Gateway Pr\u00fcfung IP68\" class=\"wp-image-3188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/microtronics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ble-gateway-ip68.jpg 389w, https:\/\/microtronics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ble-gateway-ip68-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 389px) 100vw, 389px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Let the water flow<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the final IPx9 test drastic measures were taken. It had to be possible to somehow get at least one drop of water into the Gateway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Gateway was placed on a rotating worktable. 4 high-pressure cleaners pointed threateningly at different angles (0\u00b0, 30\u00b0, 60\u00b0, 90\u00b0) to the Gateway. And then the water flows. Water with a temperature of 80\u00b0 Celsius with a jet pressured of 80 to 100 bar and a distance of 12.5 cm was released onto the Gateway form each position for 30 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After this difficult test, the Gateway suffered some optical losses and the otherwise so smooth surface was roughened. Nevertheless, no water droplets were able to infiltrate the Gateway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"517\" height=\"382\" src=\"https:\/\/microtronics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ble-gateway-ip69.jpg\" alt=\"BLE Gateway Pr\u00fcfung IP69\" class=\"wp-image-3187\" srcset=\"https:\/\/microtronics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ble-gateway-ip69.jpg 517w, https:\/\/microtronics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ble-gateway-ip69-300x222.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 517px) 100vw, 517px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"video\"><strong>IP66 \/ IP68 \/ IP69<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After such a heavy workday our Gateway wishes to return to its natural environment.
